Description
A simplified second-order Born approximation has been used to calculate the differential cross sections for electron impact excitation of the 4s'[1/2]10(1P1) state of the argon atom, for energies of 80, 100, 200 and 500 eV of the incident electrons. The results obtained are in reasonable agreement with the available experimental data and other approximations. (author)
