Description

Radiological-environmental baseline studies, related to the total uranium concentration and its radioactive isotopes, were performed in the area of influence of a leaching laboratory, located in the city of Juliaca, Puno. The studied area showed values in soil comprised between 0,2056 and 0,7192 mg/kg of total uranium; 2,54 and 8,88 Bq/kg of U-238, 0,19 and 0,41 Bq/kg of U-235, and 2,55 and 8,92 Bq/kg of U-234. These concentrations are considered as natural and will serve to evaluate the radiological impact of the activities developed by the laboratory. (orig.)
