The assay of encapsulated beta-gamma emitting waste: feasibility study
- 1. Fisher Controls Ltd. Maidstone (UK). Nuclear Controls Div.
Description
This report contains a discussion of the techniques and instrumentation available for the determination of Beta-Gamma emitting radionuclides in encapsulated radioactive waste. Where applicable, consideration has been given to the practical difficulties associated with the assay of certain waste forms. The levels of detection have been estimated but further work is required in this and other areas. A suggestion is made for incorporating the beta-gamma assay in the same facility as an alpha assay.
