Description
This article is the authors interpretation of Frank Close's lecture series at the 4th annual HUGS at CEBAF. An introduction to the quark model of hadrons leading to a discussion of hadron spectroscopy is presented. A discussion of a quark potential is motivated by the study of meson spectroscopy. Baryon spectroscopy and electromagnetic excitations of baryons are studied both to further understand hadronic structure and interactions and to determine whether any baryon resonances could be hybrid states. 4 refs., 10 figs., 4 tabs
