Low-lying isovector excitations in heavy nuclei
Description
The neutron-neutron and proton-proton effective interaction in nuclei is qualitatively different than the neutron-proton effective interaction in nuclei. This difference can lead to low-lying isovector J/sup π/=2+ states in heavy nuclei. 19 references
