Thermal annealing of V-bands and their correlation with thermoluminescence spectra in X-irradiated Li-doped KBr crystals
Description
Three V-bands V2(265), V3(245), and H'(308) are observed in room temperature (RT) X-irradiated Li-doped KBr crystals through optical absorption measurements. During the process of thermal annealing, first di-interstitial (H') centres (at 83 0C) break up later on thermal destruction of V3-centres (at 140 0C) takes place. Thermal annealing of the V-bands are correlated with the different thermoluminescence (TL) spectral emissions. An annihilation mechanism responsible for the three emissions at 440, 510, and 565 nm is suggested. (author)
