Development of standards and investigation of safety examination items for advancement of safety regulation of fast breeder reactor
- 1. Japan Nuclear Energy Safety Organization, Nuclear Energy System Safety Division, Tokyo (Japan)
Description
The purposes of this study are to prepare the fuel technical standard and the structure and materials standard of fast breeder reactors(FBR), and to examine the requirements in a reactor establishment permission. The objects of this study are mainly the Monju high performance core and a demonstration FBR. In JFY 2010, the following results were obtained. As for the fuel technical standard, the draft version of the fuel technical standard adapting the examination of integrity of the FBR fuels was completed based on the information and data obtained in this study. As for the structure and material standard, the preparation for the technical evaluation performed in JFY 2011 was carried out. And as for the examination of the safety requirements, safety evaluation items for the post Monju plant and the fission products to be considered in a reactor establishment permission were investigated and examined.
