New three-phase region in the LaO1.5-SrO-CuO

Description

Methods of x-ray diffraction analysis and annealing and quenching have been used to find a new ternary region in system LaO1.5-SrO-CuO which incorporates two solid solutions La2-xSrxCuO4-δ of the K2NiF4 structural type (one of which is enriched with La and the other is enriched with Sr) and solid silution La2-xSr1+xCu2O6-δ of the Sr3Ti2O7 type. Using the lattice parameters of these phases we have determined the dimensions of ternary region and adjoining binary region at the isothermal section at 950, 1010 and 1050 deg C. With the temperature increase the ternary region narrows owing to the growth of the limits of isomorphic shifts of La-Sr in structure La2-xSrxCuO4-δ. 16 refs., 3 figs
