Collective Excitations of C60 and C70: a simple electrostatic model

Description
We have investigated gaseous fullerene samples using electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS). In spite of the rather low resolution of this technique (compared to optical spectroscopy), the EELS method has certain advantageous features not found in conventional optical spectroscopy. (author)
