A DWBA analysis for 14N(7Li,t)18F* to study α clustering in 18F

Description
Distorted wave Born approximation (DWBA) calculations are presented for the (7Li,t) reactions to α-cluster levels in 18F and compared with the measurements of previous authors. Direct use is made of the structure model of Merchant and Rowley (1980 Phys. Lett. 97B,341)for 18F, requiring calculations to be made off the energy shell. Spectroscopic factors are obtained for the Ksup(π)=1+ levels, bound and unbound, which show direct correspondence with the previous results in 160 and 20Ne. The DWBA is not useful as a test of precise cluster-model predictions. (author)
