Description

Environmental radioactivity data on marine fish for a typical year of 2009 was analyzed for two important radionuclides of 137Cs and 60Co. As the data contains, good portion of it, non detects, the influence of three methods of replacing the MDLs with 0.5*MDL, MDL and MTDL was investigated for arriving at the mean parameter. The MTDL represents a truly detected concentration or MDL of lowest possible value using large quantity of sample size. The annual dose through ingestion pathway for Tarapur site as a whole was about 0.1% of the annual dose limit prescribed by AERB for member of public. (author)
