Experiments with low energy muons and pions
Description
The arbitrarily defined field of Intermediate Energy Physics covers a broad spectrum of experiments ranging from the use of muons as solid state probes through the atomic physics of muonium, problems of nuclear structure, and the weak and electromagnetic interactions of elementary particles. The use of the AGS beams for experiments such as accurate nuclear spectroscopy, for which LAMPF has very versatile facilities is not foreseen. Specific examples, particularly those involving weak and electromagnetic interactions are given for areas where the proposed beams could be used
