Expected X radiation from supernova 1987A. Monte Carlo computations

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Kosmicheskikh Issledovanij

Description

The Monte Carlo method was applied to calculate spectra of X-radiation emitting from the supernova shell in the supposition, that inside it: a) 0.1 sun decay of radioactive cobalt accompanied by gamma-quantum emission takes place; b) a young pulsar emits. Comptonization and photoabsorption on electrons of heavy element K-shells are the main processe determining the shape of spectra. X-radiation flux evolution in time is presented. Variants with non-uniform distribution of substance in the shell (rarefied phase with dense plasma clouds impregnated in it) with stratified distribution of heavy elements and with toroidal geometry of the expanding shell are calculated
