Testing Tiltmeters for the Alignment System of the CMS Experiment

Description

In this note we present tests made to three different models of tiltmeters available on the market. The response of the sensors under moderate longitudinal tilts is studied and intrinsic performance is extracted.Stability measurements are also made. A first laser-level unit prototype has been constructed and successfully calibrated. (Author) 8 refs
