CuNiBe - a variant of the age-hardenable CuCoBe wrought copper alloy
Description
In order to circumvent the long lasting difficult market situation the substitution of Cobalt by Nickel concerning the age-hardenable CuCoBe wrought copper alloy was an acceptable solution in the view of the metallography. Information is given about the mechanical and physical properties of this CuNiBe wrought copper alloy which is regarded as a variation of the standard CuCoBe wrought copper alloy. The comparison of these two alloys shows that CuNiBe has a better ductility, a higher electrical and thermal conducting capacity at a lower hardening and age-hardening behaviour. Abstract (German)
Zur Umgehung der anhaltend schwierigen Marktsituation auf dem Kobaltsektor bot sich aus metallkundlicher Sicht die Substitution des Kobalts durch Nickel bei der aushaertbaren CuCoBe-Knetlegierung an. Ueber die mechanischen und physikalischen Eigenschaften dieser CuNiBe-Knetlegierung, die als Variante der genormten CuCoBe-Knetlegierung betrachtet werden kann, wird berichtet. Die Gegenueberstellung beider Legierungen zeigt fuer CuNiBe bessere Duktilitaet hoehere elektrische und thermische Leitfaehigkeit bei etwas maessigerem Verfestigungs- und Aushaertverhalten.
