Description
A 3He nuclear Zeeman maser is fully described. Macroscopic equations of motion for the magnetisation in the maser cell are derived from exact solutions of Schroedinger's equation and solved by numerical and approximate analytical methods. Results obtained from an experimental maser agree closely with theory. Applications to magnetometry and a gyroscope are discussed. (author)
