Space charge effect of bunched beam with Gaussian distribution

Description

The nonlinear space charge effect of a bunched beam with Gaussian distribution in the longitudinal direction is discussed. Some useful formulae are derived for calculating the potential induced by a cylinder model of space charge in the waveguide of a linac with different combinations of density distribution: Gaussian distribution in the longitudinal direction versus Kapchinskij- Vladimirskij, waterbag, parabolic and Gaussian distribution in the transverse direction, respectively
