Kaluza-Klein supergravity in ten dimensions

Description
A massive version of N=2 supergravity is constructed in ten dimensions by compactification of the eleven-dimensional, N=1 theory. The theory describes the usual N=2 massless supermultiplet, in addition to which there is an infinite tower of massive, charged N=2 supermultiplets. The appearance of the massive states as a consequence of the spontaneous breaking of part of the eleven-dimensional supersymmetry and the presence of Goldstone modes is clarified. (author)
