Licensing of nuclear facilities (CNEN-RES--15/02)

Description

This standard establishes the licensing process for nuclear facilities applied to activities related to the location, construction and operation of such facilities; presents the following steps involving the process for granting licenses and authorizations for an installation: site approval; building license (total or partial); authorization for the use of nuclear materials; authorization for initial operation; authorization for permanent operation; cancellation of authorization to operate. Specifies the minimum information that must be contained in the preliminary safety analysis report to be prepared with a view to issuing the construction permit, as well as the information that must be contained in the Final Safety Analysis Report (RFAS) which, together with the plan of physical protection, constitute the basic documents for the issuance of the Authorization for Initial Operation
