Formation of zeolites in OPC-pfa mixes
Creators
- 1. Building Research Establishment, Garston, Watford (United Kingdom)
Description
Composite cements such as OPC/pfa mixes are being considered for use in the construction of low/intermediate level radioactive waste repositories. The interactions of OPC/pfa cements with high sulfate and high carbonate-bearing ground waters at temperatures that may be attained in a repository have been investigated as part of a larger program of work being carried out at the Building Research Establishment. Zeolite-type phases have been identified in these mixes at elevated temperatures
