Eluent for radionuclide elution from ion exchanger

Description
Isotonic saline may be used with ease for washing a daughter radionuclide from radionuclide generators where ion exchangers are used as sorbents. A new elution method is proposed in which a small amount of an inorganic or organic oxidizing agent is added to the eluant, which significantly increases the eluted activity yield. The eluant thus modified may be used for the elution of both sterile and non-sterile generators. (L.K.)
