Quality problems of feed water, boiler water and steam of modular steam generators for fast reactors

Description

Corrosion is studied in fast reactor steam generators as are the conditions affecting the choice of water regimen. Main causes of corrosion are listed, such as oxygen corrosion, protective coat disturbance by frequent temperature changes, tube overheating under the fouling steam decomposition corrosion, and corrosion as a result of salt thickening under the fouling. The choice of the water regimen is based on the assumption of a leaking protective coat in a tube and the concentration of boiler water salts under the coat. High-performance power plants change over to the phosphate water regimen. (Kr)
