Experimental analysis of heat-hardening matrix composites
Description
The mechanical behaviour of unsaturated polyester matrix reinforced with glass fibres and containing inert mineral base and selfextinguishing additives have been investigated. The maintenance of the mechanical properties of the composite were tested. Mechanical and self-extinguishing tests were performed on standard specimens before and after ageing cycles in order to define the decay of the composites. The results obtained give useful information about the behaviour of the matrix in order to find the best compromise between low cost and good mechanical characteristics easily suitable to existing technology and know-how.
