Description

The GKSS annual report in hand appears for the first time with a new format. While research work and developments in the annual reports of preceding years were partly described in great detail, now a description reduced to essential facts supports the request of many readers. In order to bring the work of the GKSS nearer to the non-specialist, general surveys were made of several GKSS main points of research which, after an appropriate introduction, combired the results of several years. The annual report was expanded by a description of the Institute and central department in order to give the reader an insight into the discoveries and work possibilities in this field, with a view to working together. Abstract (German)

Der vorliegende Jahresbericht der GKSS erscheint erstmals mit einer neuen Gliederung. Waehrend in den Jahresberichten der vergangenen Jahre die Forschungs- und Entwicklungsarbeiten teilweise sehr detailliert beschrieben wurden, ist nunmehr durch eine auf das Wesentliche reduzierte Darstellung dem Wunsche vieler Leser Rechnung getragen worden. Um auch dem Nichtfachmann die Arbeiten der GKSS naeher zu bringen, wurden Uebersichtsberichte aus einigen Forschungsschwerpunkten der GKSS aufgenommen, die nach einer Einfuehrung in das Gebiet die Ergebnisse mehrerer Jahre zusammenfassen. Erweitert wurde der Jahresbericht durch eine Darstellung der Institute und Zentralabteilungen, um dem Leser im Hinblick auf eine Zusammenarbeit einen Einblick in die Erfahrungen und Arbeitsmoeglichkeiten dieser Bereiche zu vermitteln.
