Estimation of strength for structural materials at cryogenic temperatures and action of electric current pulses

  • 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Kiev. Inst. Problem Prochnosti

Description

A calculation-experimental method is considered for determination of values for dangerous stresses under the action of electric current pulses. It is shown that under the action of electric pulses flow stress of 12Kh18n10t and 03Kh13ag19 steels decreases by 12...30% while at the temperatures 77, 44.2 K it remains higher than the yield strength of steels at 293 K, which reveals a possibility to apply low-temperature hardening for increasing a level of admissable stresses when calculating strength for structural members of the energetic devices operating under conditions of deep cooling
