Description
Safety criteria and guidelines do not exist for research reactors in the way they do for power reactors, but the power reactor guidelines are taken as a yardstick. The safety of ageing research reactors is thus being ensured by backfitting and upgrading. Backfitting measures taken at the FMRB and FRG-1 and FRG-2 reactors are described. (U.K.)
