Evaluation of electrical power quality of LVMDB2 panels at radioactive waste technology center

Description

The Low Voltage Main Distribution Board 2 (LVMDB2) electric panel is one of the electrical systems at the Center for Radioactive Waste Technology which functions to supply electrical power to sewage treatment plant equipment, supporting facilities, and office rooms. The quality of electrical power must always be maintained so that the equipment it supplies is not damaged quickly. One of the power quality parameters that need to be watched is the harmonic value. Harmonics are disturbances that occur in the electric power distribution system due to current and voltage wave distortions. To assess the quality of this electric power it is necessary Evaluation activities are carried out. Activities are aimed at obtaining recommendations for action, if there has been a deviation from the set standard value. The method used is to compare the data from the measurement of system operating parameters with the values in the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) standard. Measurement of electric power parameters using the Power Factor Controller BR 6000 module. This activity has concluded that the quality of the power factor/cos ϴ is 0.97-0.98. The amount of voltage harmonic distortion (% THDV) of the LVMDB2 panel is in the range 1.1 to 2.5 %, and current harmonic distortion (% THDI) is in the range of 5.0 to 7.6 %. The value of voltage and current harmonic distortion compared to the IEEE 519-2014 standard is below the maximum limit of harmonic distortion. The maximum limit of voltage harmonic distortion is 5 % and the maximum limit of harmonic distortion of electric current is 15 %. (author)
