Thermal shock of a pipe with a partly circumferential surface crack
Description
Stress intensity factors are calculated at the deepest point of partly circumferential surface cracks in a pipe loaded thermally and by internal pressure. The method of calculation is based on weight functions using the program package 'EASY' developed by Mattheck and Munz. Numerical values of the stress intensity factors are given for various crack depths and crack lengths in a pipe with an inner radius to wall thickness ratio of 10. (author)
