Description
The use of a three-index antisymmetric potential Asub(μνrho) provides a viable mechanism to give rise to a constant vacuum energy density of arbitrary magnitude. We use this mechanism to formulate an effective action functional which provides a natural basis for the inflationary cosmology. The de Sitter phase arises from the dynamics of the system in a self-consistent way, without introducing any 'ad hoc' Higgs potential. (orig.)
