The observation of non-thermal features by tangential Thomson scattering at the TORTUR tokamak

  • 1. Associatie Euratom-FOM, Nieuwegein (Netherlands). FOM-Instituut voor Plasmafysica

Description

Tangential Thomson scattering at TORTUR plasmas was set-up to determine the local current density. The results demonstrate that the veloctiy distribution of mildly turbulent plasmas in non-Maxwellian, which is of great importance for transport computations. A complete tangential spectrum has been measured by a single laser pulse. (author). 10 refs.; 4 figs
