S ummary The parameters determining the radiation dose to the skin of the patient in radiographic exposures are discussed as a basis for the development of a simple, easily‐operated calculator. The calculator itself and fnstructions for its use are available from the National Radiation Laboratory, Christchurch, New Zealand.
