Description
This work describes a plasma neutralizer for ion beams and experimental results of conversion of H- ions into neutral atoms on the plasma target. The working medium of neutralizer is thermal plasma (potassium, cesium). The neutralizer is designed for an integrated plasma target density of a plasma target ∼ 1015 cm-2. A degree of plasma ionization may be adjusted. Dimensions of the neutralizer are 240 mm diameter and 350 mm length. Power consumption is 10 kW. The efficiency of H- ions conversion to neutral atoms and angular scattering of neutral atoms on plasma target in dependence on ion energy, target thickness and plasma ionization degree were measured
