Practical aspects of radiological surveillance of gaseous and liquid effluents from nuclear power plants
Description
Section 46, sub-section (1), no. 3 determines the obligation of nuclear power plant operators, to regularly carry out measurements for radiation monitoring of the plant's effluents, using the appropriate equipment and methods. The supervisory authorities are to be regularly sent the radioactivity release records and measured results of monitoring in air and water. The reports to the authorities are to be made in accordance with KTA rules 1503 and 1504, specific data to be given on the various types of nuclides and groups of elements. The paper in hand discusses the practical aspects of routine monitoring and radioactivity accounting in the Stade nuclear power plant. (orig./DG)

Jedes Kernkraftwerk ist nach Para. 46 Abs. 1 Nr. 3 StrlSchV verpflichtet, Einrichtungen zur Messung und Ueberwachung der Ableitung radioaktiver Stoffe zu installieren und zu betreiben. Es sind den Genehmigungsbehoerden regelmaessig Meldungen ueber die Bilanz der abgegebenen radioaktiven Stoffe ueber die Transportmedien Abluft und Abwasser zu erstatten. Hierbei ist nach verschiedenen Arten radioaktiver Nuklide und Elementgruppen zu spezifizieren gemaess den Sicherheitstechnischen Regeln KTA 1503 und 1504. Wie eine derartige Ueberwachung und Bilanzierung der radioaktiven Abgaben in einem Kernkraftwerk praktisch durchgefuehrt wird, ist beispielhaft fuer das Kernkraftwerk Stade erlaeutert.
