Shell-model calculations in the sd shell

Description
Shell-model calculations have been performed for positive-parity states in 23Na with J > 11/2. The fitted interaction of Preedom and Wildenthal (Phys. Rev.; C6:1633 (1972)) have been used in the full sd-shell configuration space. Calculated electromagnetic decay properties and level energies are compared in detail with experimental data in the excitation range 5 to 10 MeV. Predictions are made for the properties of some levels above 10 MeV. (author)
