Study of specimen's size effect on fracture transitions in three points bending and compression tests
Description
In this work, a study of the specimens size effect on the fracture transitions has been investigated. For this purpose specimens for three-point-bending test according to the ASTM dimensions, as well as compression's specimens similar to that designed by Kendall (1978) has been prepared. The prepaired specimens were then tested with constant strain, where the number of fracture specimens have been varied by changing the strain rate. A fracture transition curved indicating the ratio of fracture specimens as function of strain rate. 22 figs.; 13 tabs.; 46 refs
