Plutonium recycle in fast reactors

  • 1. UKAEA Risley Nuclear Power Development Establishment

Description

The effect of varying plutonium feed composition on the performance parameters of the fast reactor is considered. It is investigated whether in the definition of the performance parameters it is better to treat fast reactor fuel as total plutonium, fissile plutonium or equivalent Pu239. The repeated recycle of plutonium through the fast reactor is also considered. (U.K.)
