Optimisation of Environmental Monitoring Network Configuration for Early Emergency Assessment

Description
Probabilities of early detection of emissions at environmental monitoring stations are computed for various WWR accident scenarios, meteorological parameters and monitoring station configurations. Results are presented for gamma dose rate and iodine monitors. The typical number of monitoring stations required to achieve reasonably acceptable detection probabilities ranges from 20 to 40.
