Power supply for use in a thermonuclear device

Description

Purpose: To provide a single power supply system only for suppressing the energy loss and decreasing the volume of the facility. Constitution: A plasma exciting-coil is connected with an inverter as a first converter, and a vertical-magnetic-field coil is connected with a converter as a second converter and capacitors are connected to common connection points to both of the converters respectively. The capacitors are used to accumulate the energy stored in the plasma-exciting coils constituting an ''F power source'' by way of the first converter and transfer the stored energy by way of the second converter to the vertical-magnetic-field coil constituting a ''V power source''. In this way, currents flowing through the plasma-exciting coil and the vertical-magnetic-field coil can be adjusted so that they are substantially in an inversely proportional relation by the first and second converters and by the capacitors as the energy storage means. Accordingly, there is no need of providing F power source and V power source separately. (Yoshino, Y.)
