Description
We present IR spectra of organic materials, both commercial and newly produced in the laboratory, and their changes due to fast ion bombardment. The results indicate in particular: a preferential loss of hydrogen, darkening, amorphization, a rearrangement in the molecular structure. Some astrophysical applications and observations from space missions are suggested. (author)
