Enhancement of efficiency of the vacuum-arc discharge initiation

Description

The new elements for vacuum-arc discharge initiation have been developed. An igniter electrode for arc initiation has been developed. The arc initiation dependences on the ratio of powders of graphite and silver have been studied. The optimal parameters such as the distances between cathode and igniter and the ratios of powder mixtures have been determined. It has been found that for the distance between cathode and igniter of 5 mm the igniter from graphite and silver powders has the arc initiation probability 13% more than that for the igniter filled with graphite only.
