Microstructure of heat-affected zone in carbon steel irradiated by a low-energy high-current electron beam
- 1. Russian Academy of Sciences, Tomsk (Russian Federation). Inst. of High-Current Electronics
Description
Using X-ray structural analysis and transmission electron microscopy of thin layers the authors have studied the mechanism of heat-affected zone formation in as-hardened steel irradiated by a low-energy microsecond high-current electron beam. It has been found that the above zone consists of three characteristic layers. They have analyzed the conditions of formation of this layer using thermal calculations
