Measured characteristics of xenon-induced X--Y oscillations in the H. B. Robinson Unit 2 Nuclear Power Plant
Description
An X-Y xenon oscillation test was performed at the H. B. Robinson, Unit No. 2 plant. The results of these measurements, which began with a core average burnup of 1540 MWD/MTU, demonstrated that the core is stable to X-Y oscillations with a stability index of -0.076 hr-1. The X-Y xenon oscillation test was simulated analytically using a two-dimensional diffusion code. The calculated stability index of -0.081 hr-1 is in good agreement with the measured value of -0.076 hr-1. 13 references. (U.S.)
