Description
Ambient air quality (AAQ) has been disrupted in relation to PM10, PM2.5 and PAH indicators in the two neighboring municipalities of Pernik and Sofia. The results of the prepared Programs for management of air quality identify the main source of ambient air pollution- residential combustion, which is determining for AAQ on all three indicators under consideration. The second most important source in terms of PM10 and PM2.5 indicators is the transport sector, for which the dust resuspended from the road surface is characteristically dominant. There has also been a high contribution of external (including cross-border) sources of PM pollution, which significantly aggravate the fight against pollution in the affected municipalities and the country as a whole.
