Differential neutron cross section of sup(47,48)Ti(n,p) sup(47,48)Sc and 27Al(n,α)24Na
Description
A technique for the determination of the cross sections for the 27Al(n,α)24Na and sup(47,48)Ti(n,p)sup(47,48)Sc nuclear reactions in Al and Ti foils is described. The monoenergetic neutron irradiations in the range 6 MeV to 14 MeV were carried out using the Harwell Tandem and Cockcroft-Walton accelerators and the induced activities in the foils were determined using high resolution γ spectrometry.
