Approval of the random mutual orientation statistics index as a basis in search for structure-property relationship in coordination compounds

Thermodynamic properties of aquo- and aminocomplexes of bivalent metals (gaseous state, T=18 C) of the general formula [MLm]2+ (M=Cu, Ni, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn, Mn, Fe, Co, Be; L=H2O NH3; m=2, 4, 6) with structural index calculated on the basis of random mutual orientations of spatial models of the compounds considered, are compared the results being presented. Correlations of formation heats of the compounds from elements with index inside structural classes defined by coordination numbers 2, 4, 6 have been revealed; the values of correlation factor r equal - 0.983, -0.979, -0.985 respectively. A general correlation between the index heat of formation from gaseous M and L (n=16, r=0.987, sigma=7%) has been obtained for aminocomplexes. Refs. 7, figs. 1, tabs. 1
