Australia-wide exposure survey of mammographic equipment
Description
The Australian Radiation Laboratory is conducting a national survey of mammographic equipment aimed at assessing the radiation dose to the population from mammographic examinations and at the same time providing individual centres with information on the quality of the radiation being used (Half Value Layer) and on the average glandular dose delivered to the patient. The data to be collected, the monitor and thermoluminescent dosimetry material chosen, and the survey procedures are discussed. 6 refs
