Temperature effect on radiolysis of CH4 and gas mixtures, CH4+H2O

Description
Kinetics of hydrogen formation in radiolysis of CH4 and gas-phase impurities CH4+H2O in the temperature interval from 333-773 K under γ-radiation effect is studied. Effective activation energy of hydrogen formation (Ea) is determined using the dependence of hydrogen yield from the temperature in Arrhenius coordinates. For radiolysis of CH4 Ea=4.2 and 25.2 kJ/mol correpondingly in the interval of 333-523 and 673-773 K. Increase of methane content in the CH4+H2O mixture leads to
