Description
The sequence of events induced in cells by the absorption of high energy radiation is divided into three successive phases: physical, chemical, and biological. These phases are essentially separated in time. The time from end of the chemical phase, the phase in which DNA damage occurs, to the onset of the biological phase, the phase where enzymatic action is initiated, is described in greater detail.
