Description

Zirconium oxide powder has been synthesized at low temperature (600oC) by the combustion of gel prepared from polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and zirconyl nitrate. ZrO2 characterization is examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and BET (Brunaure-Emmet-Teller) measurements. Further thermal treatment at 600oC in 1.5 h yield the single ZrO2 with average primary size < 50 nm. It specific surface area is 67.56 m2/g for ZnO2. (author)
