Description
The low-temperature magnetic properties of erbium iron garnet have been calculated as a function of temperature and the orientation of the magnetization. The calculation is based on an effective spin Hamiltonian approach. The results are in agreement with available experimental data. An anomaly in the magnetic anisotropy near 6 K has been predicted and observed in this work. (orig.)
